What is Law?
A set of legal rules that organize the human behavior, these rules are social, general, abstract and obligatory.
What are the objectives of Law?
To organize the society – determine rights and duties
To achieve justice –settle down disputes and impose punishments for breaking the rule of law
To maintain public order and human welfare

What are the main classifications of Law?
*According to the parties involved in the relationship governed by the legal rules, law is divided into two categories: Public and Private Law
A- Public law
When the State as a sovereign person exists in a certain relation, this relation is governed by public law rules
Main branches of public law are:

Public International law
Constitutional law
Administrative law
Financial law
Criminal law
Criminal Procedures Law

B- Private law
When the state is not involved in the relation, or it acts as an ordinary person, the relation is to be governed by a private law rule.

Main branches of Private law are:

Civil Law
Commercial law
Labor law
Private international law
Maritime law
Civil Procedures Law

* According to the form of the legal rule, Law can be divided into written Law "Legislation" and customary Law
According to the substance of the legal rule, law can be divided into substantial rule – which determines legal status, rights and duties-, and procedural rule, -which determines the formal way to defend or enforce these rights and obligations.

According to the compulsory effect of the law, legal rules are either imperative rules or complementary rules.
